Rob Powell
Founder and Director
With over 7 years in the automotive sector and over 15 years in marketing, Rob has seen the industry move from the physical showroom floor to the digital storefront. He doesn't just market cars; he’s the architect of high-conversion marketing strategies that help sell them.
Rob founded Spike Automotive on a single, disruptive principle: many agencies work with the automotive sector, but very few have worked in it. Rob’s career was built at Pendragon PLC - then the largest dealer group in Europe - where he progressed from serving as a sales advisor and service manager to supporting a network of 54 dealerships across the UK. He didn’t just observe the industry’s challenges; he lived them.
Today, as director of Spike Automotive, he leads an expert team of digital marketers that bridge the gap between complex dealership operations and modern digital execution - ensuring that clients aren’t just getting clicks - they’re getting cars off the lot.
Duncan Colman
Founder and Director
With over two decades of digital marketing experience and more than eight years in the automotive sector, Duncan doesn’t just understand marketing - he understands the commercial landscape behind it. He founded Spike Automotive to be a driving force in class-leading, strategic marketing that delivers measurable commercial growth for the motor industry.
Duncan’s perspective was forged at the intersection of manufacturer and consumer. From leading dealer marketing for Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi Canter at DaimlerChrysler, to managing complex warranty campaigns and CRM strategies at Car Care Plan, and heading the commercial vehicle division for the Daily Mail at Motors.co.uk, he has navigated the industry at the highest level.
Today, Duncan serves as Spike’s strategic anchor. He pairs a technical obsession for SEO with deep expertise in paid search, social, affiliate marketing, and web development. By combining high-level strategy with digital execution, Duncan ensures Spike’s clients don’t just keep pace - they own the road.
